Curzon launches pop up cinema scheme

Independent cinema chain Curzon Cimemas is to launch a pop up scheme, ‘Curzon At’ to take temporary cinemas to local arts venues across the UK.

Titles set to screen at the venues include We Need to Talk About Kevin, Wuthering Heights, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Bridesmaids.  Films will play in Blu-Ray quality via a digital file format.  Curzon will split revenues with the host venue in each location.

Ben Metcalf, Curzon At manager, said: “I’m thrilled to be heading up a project that is taking independent films to traditionally under served areas of the UK. The advent of digital technology means that arts centres and theatres across the country can enjoy the latest art house films closer than ever to release date.”

The Watermark in Ivybridge, Devon, and Bridport Arts Centre in Dorset will be the first venues to host the scheme.
